Product certification

Before a product can be marketed, it must be properly categorized. A product can fall into the regulated and non-regulated spheres.

The unregulated sphere includes products that do not pose a threat to a legitimate interest. Only the general safety requirements apply to the placing on the market of these sales commodities and they do not need to be assessed for compliance.

It is different for regulated products. The regulated sphere includes, for example, low-voltage electrical equipment, machinery, personal protective equipment, pressure vessels, equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres, gas fuel appliances and others that require a declaration of conformity. A declaration must also be issued for refurbished and used items.

Construction products

Products of the regulated sphere that are placed on the EU market must meet the technical requirements for products that are set by EU directives. For manufacturers and importers of construction products, this means that every construction product that is placed on the Czech market must meet the prescribed requirements. Construction products are within the meaning of Act 22/1997 Coll. on technical requirements for products, as amended by the so-called "specified product", and their marketing in the European Union and EFTA countries is regulated by technical regulations, which result in specific obligations for manufacturers, importers, authorized representatives and distributors. The marketing conditions are partly harmonized (same for the entire EU) and partly regulated by the national legislation of each EU member country.

Voluntary product certification

Product certification is the process of confirming compliance with product properties based on the requirements of a technical regulation. In addition to risk analysis, testing in an accredited laboratory and comparison of product properties with the requirements of the regulation, it usually also includes supervision of the stability of the quality of the certified product for the duration of the certificate.

It will help you increase the credibility of the product, better establish yourself on the market, improve the image of the company, increase the share of exports in the company and many other factors.

The result of the verification is an opinion in the form of a certificate. Verification is an activity carried out on a voluntary basis as an independent assessment by a third party.

CE certification

CE certification indicates that products comply with European Union legislation and can therefore be freely sold on the European market.

By affixing the CE marking to its product, the manufacturer declares under its own responsibility that this product complies with all legal requirements for this marking and can therefore be sold throughout the European Economic Area and Turkey.

This means that if you want to trade certain goods in the European Economic Area or Turkey, CE certification is mandatory.

EAC certification

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) currently consists of five states:

Products to be imported or placed on the market of these countries are subject to conformity assessment in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.

This means that an EAC certificate is needed. If the conformity assessment is successful, the products are marked with the EAC conformity mark.

We will ensure that you obtain an EAC certificate for products that are imported or placed on the market and are subject to conformity assessment in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.

UKCA Certification (Great Britain)

From January 1, 2021, Great Britain officially left the EU community and will become a third country vis-à-vis the Union in terms of importing and exporting goods. This means that from the beginning of next year, products marketed in Great Britain will have to meet the technical requirements according to British legislation.

Products that are mandatorily assessed by a third party will bear the new label "UKCA" (UK conformity assessed). British authorities and market surveillance authorities will in some cases temporarily accept the CE marking on already assessed products intended for the British market, but only for a limited time, until 31/12/2022. However, this approach will only apply to certain groups of products and on the condition that there is no change in the relevant legislation applicable to the given product, neither by the EU nor by the UK. Otherwise, the product will have to be re-assessed by bodies accredited by the UKAS organization, whether the product meets the technical requirements according to British legislation, and the CE mark on the product will no longer be possible to use even by the above-mentioned deadline.
